Just wanted to pass on some help about retrieving pictures from memory cards and other storage devices after they were accidentally deleted or corrupt. Have you had any problems with transferring your photos from your memory card or digital camera to your computer, printer or digital photo frame? Has your memory card shown up as being empty or come up with errors when you try to access your photos? If so then keep reading as this article will be able to help you retrieve all of your lost digital photos.
Why does my memory card become corrupt? There are many reasons why it may become corrupt but the main reason is usually down to someone taking the memory card out of your digital camera, computer or digital photo frame while it is still turned on. Another really common reason why memory cards become corrupt is if the batteries in your digital camera fail while your camera is reading or writing to your card or if there is a power cut when your computer or photo frame is accessing your memory card. On your memory card there is a small digital file called a table of contents which tells your camera, computer or whatever it’s plugged into what data is written on the card and where your camera or computer needs to look for it. Think of your memory card as a big photo album with thousands of photos in it and the table of contents is a list of all the photos in your album and what page they are on. Whenever your computer, camera or other devices want to read a photo on your memory card it has to first look on the table of contents to find out where your photo is stored, when you take a photo with your camera as it saves the image to your memory card it has to also write an entry for it to the table of contents. If the power fails or you remove the card when this table of contents is being read or written to, there is a very high probability that the table of contents file will become damaged. Once it has become corrupt your computer or camera wont be able to find your photos, all your photos are still there but your camera and computer wont know where to look for them.
So how do I fix this and get all my photos back? Simple! All you need is a piece of software called Stellar Photo Recovery (download from Easy App Express) that can scan your memory card and find all your photos without needing to access the table of contents, after it has found them it simply rebuilds the table of contents and restores it to working order! It will also recover most recently deleted photos so if you have deleted a photo by accident then Stellar Photo Recovery (download from Easy App Express) can help. It makes no difference what type of memory card you have, it works with all of them! You can also try it for free!
